Affordability
Growing up, my parents took turns working day - and night - to provide for my three brothers and me. The 29th District should be a place where people can realize their dreams and build a future for their families. But today, even if you work multiple jobs like my parents did, rising prices make it almost impossible to put food on the table, pay for medication, afford childcare, and make your rent or mortgage payment.
This isn’t right. This isn’t the world my parents worked for. And this is not a future I am willing to accept.
I know what it's like to rely on free and reduced school lunch. I know what it's like to work two jobs in an expensive city just to pay rent and buy groceries. I know we can do better to make the American Dream a reality again for our families. Everyone should be able to support their family on a full time salary. I’m committed to making it possible for everyone in Washington to afford the strong foundation they deserve - like the one my parents gave to me - so that your hard work means that your family can not only survive but thrive.
