Transportation
VALUE STATEMENT
Families in the 29th District deserve to be able to get where they need to go quickly, reliably, and safely. Our transportation system should be able to meet the needs of your life, whether it’s getting you to work on time, your kids to school, someone in your family to an important appointment, or to something fun on the weekends. But the system we have today isn’t moving fast enough, and isn’t providing enough options, to keep up with the lives and needs of people in our community.
We need to get creative in how we finance, build, and maintain the systems that make your life go, whether you drive, ride a bus or bike, or take a train or ferry. It’s time to get serious about transportation investment in Pierce County to provide the reliable, efficient, and safe transportation system you deserve. We also have to recognize the need for new ways to pay for our roads, because the old ways aren’t filling potholes in city streets, keeping our bridges up, or building the new infrastructure we need to keep our economy moving.
